My Morning Elegance

Catch me if you can

She can forget what you say, but she won't forget how you make her feel.

It was an elegant morning! I never woke up early in the morning on Sunday to take pictures and put some lipstick on. All these pictures were taken by Phoebe. She has no experience with SLR camera, but it was not a big deal to teach and direct her how to use it. And the rest is all about Photoshoping! Tomorrow I will be taking picture for the Iowa Writing Center Conference 2012! Yep, Wartburg is the host this year! And can't wait for Saturday to take pictures for our new blog Ruthie Meets Phoebe - click it and check it out! And if you want to see picture of Phoebe's photo-session click here.

Good night world!

Haiku Posters

I feel like posting these designs that I made for the haiku training from my employer. So here is the thing, I just registered for class today and apprently got wait-listed for Graphic Design class. There are 8 people who are waitlisted and they can just take 2 more students. I don't think my chance is that big.

These posters are really simple and easy-made. This is why I need to be enrolled in that ART 108 class, I need to improve my design skill. I need to know the proper setting (technical basics) to make posters, magazine pages, CD cases, pamflet and so on. I really really wish a magic happen and they told me "You have been added". Meh...

Phoebe Wang

I cannot wait to reveal Phobe's photo shoot today, while I am figuring out how to do class registration (but I think I am gonna do it tomorrow morning). She is my first person to be modeling with me here in the U.S.

The photosession was pretty spontaneous. I just texted her the night before. And we walked so far away until the first tunnel. I told her that, it was not that far. But the thing that I forgot, the last time I went to that place by bike. Obviously, it was not that far by bike.

I really like her face. She said that she also loved to take pictures.  It reminds me of Alexander Wang's model, the different is; she has shorter hair. She also has a really cute style a mix of Harajuku and classic. But then when I asked her what her style is she said, "Old fashioned". I was surprised.

Plus, she is going to be my roomate too next year. And we already planned so many things together about home decoration and fashion.

And I am hunting for more people to collaborate with! Next time it could be you!

Hello Sunday: Teaser!

Warm up first

"Okay, it's four times"
Phoebe said "Let's do serious but funny pose"

Before heading back to have lunch

We ended up having hotdog for lunch because we did not make it to mensa

This week I am so into blogging, and so taking pictures. So last night I came up with a instant plan to do a photo session. I am back taking pictures of people! So I told my friend slash future roomate Phoebe to go with me this morning at 10:00. Apparently I forgot to turned my alarm on - but she knocked on my door at around 9:10, and voila it only took me 20 minutes to get ready! So we walked to the bridge near the Waverly Trail area and walked 2 km away until the tunnel.

Glad there was not so many people, I guess people were at the church. These are just teasers, more pictures of me and Phoebe will come very soon!

We took many good pictures! I am so glad I am back taking pictures. I will upload them soon.
My weekends for the next two months will be amazing!

I Would Be Sad If...

Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember

You can be addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end, always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over

But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough
No you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records and then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

[Kimbra:]
Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
But I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know

[Gotye:]
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough
And you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records and then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

[x2]
Somebody
(I used to know)
Somebody
(Now you're just somebody that I used to know)

(I used to know)
(That I used to know)
(I used to know)
Somebody

Drag Show

I used my phone to take the picture, so the quality was bad

There was a drag show in my school. It was sponsored by the Alliance (LGBT) Group. It was nice, entertaining. But at the same time, I think it was ironic, the fact that if we are all human and we are equal, why should we use people to make us feel happy and laugh at them? Can we still being entertained and laugh no matter our sexual orientation are? Think about it again.

Saturday Brunch

I had an early day today since I had to go to Campus Employment Training at 10 in the morning. Honestly, I usually wake up at around 11 on Saturdays. The training finished at 12am, obviously I missed Mensa. But, I was actually happy because I could make my own Satruday brunch. Since I did grocery yesterday, I had enough "college food". I also bought pork skin. In Indonesia, people eat it a lot with noodles. Here what I did:

What you need:
1. One packet of Maruchan Beef Teriyaki Noodles (or other brand)
2. Pork Skin Chips
3. A slice of chicken breaded stripes.

Happy Saturday!
